Flea Control
We treat fleas inside, outside or both. Fleas take a few weeks to clear, and what you do in that time matters as much as what we do.
Before we come
We need to get at as much floor as we can.
- Inside: pick things up off the floor and put them on benches, beds and lounges. Then vacuum and mop. Vacuuming lifts the carpet pile so the product gets in, and it picks up eggs and larvae.
- Outside: clear the yard as much as you can and mow the lawn.
After we leave
Adult fleas are only about 5% of the population. The other 95% are eggs, larvae and pupae, and they’ll keep hatching over the next 2 to 3 weeks. You’ll still see fleas in that time. They hatch, touch the treatment and die.
- Walk through the treated areas at least twice a day. Pupae can lie dormant for up to 18 months until movement wakes them. Stomp around and get them out.
- Don’t vacuum, mop or mow the treated areas for 2 weeks. We know, it’s a pain. We use a low rate of product to keep your family and pets safe, and cleaning wears it off.
- Treat your pets. Ask your vet for a good flea treatment, or they’ll keep bringing fleas back in.
- Wash pet bedding on a hot cycle every 3 days for the next 2 weeks.
When a flea treatment fails, it’s almost always because one of these steps was missed. Stick with it. If you’re still unsure after 3 weeks, call us.

- Inside or outside only: 1 month.
If the pests come back, so do we.
Before you call
Why am I still seeing fleas after the treatment?
Adult fleas are only about 5% of the population. The rest are eggs, larvae and pupae, and they keep hatching for 2 to 3 weeks. They land on the treatment and die. That's normal, and it means it's working.
Can I vacuum after a flea treatment?
Not for 2 weeks, and don't mop or mow the treated areas either. We use a low rate of product for your family's and pets' safety, and cleaning breaks it down faster.
How long is the warranty on flea treatments?
3 months when we treat inside and outside together, and 1 month for inside or outside only.
